Right Circular Cone.

    In general, a cone is a pyramid with a circular cross section whose axis is perpendicular to its base.  A right circular cone is a cone with its vertex above the center of its base. However, when used without qualification, the term " CONE " or often means " RIGHT CIRCULAR CONE. "

Π = 3.14159                √ = Square Root

PROPERTIES OF RIGHT CIRCULAR CONE

  1. The altitude of a Right Circular Cone is the perpendicular drop from vertex to the center of the base. It is denoted by h.
  2. The relationship between base radius ( r ), altitude ( h ), and slant height ( s ) is given by. r2 + h2 = s2
  3. Any section parallel to the base is a circle whose center is on the axis of the cone.
  4. A section of a right circular cone which contains the vertex and two points of the base is an isosceles triangle.
